5. Industry Mentorship Subsystem
SUCCEEDS will include an industry mentorship subsystem to improve S-STEM scholars’ technical and professional skills, develop their engineering identity, and create a community supporting career growth and socioemotional well-being. The program will offer one-on-one industry mentors and a community of practice where scholars can network with industry mentors via social media channels. The mentorship subsystem includes four stages: matching participants, participant preparation, interactions, and activity assessment. Industry mentors will be recruited with the help of the COE Advisory Board. A LinkedIn group and a Discord channel will be created for casual conversations between mentors and scholars. The scholars are encouraged to join the industry mentorship program starting their sophomore year or later.
