Scholars were allowed reserved access to UIC Makerspace

Scholars in the S-STEM program were granted private access to the UIC Makerspace, where they gained hands-on prototyping experience for their future engineering projects.

The University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) Makerspace is a state-of-the-art facility designed to foster innovation and support prototyping, especially for engineering students. Spanning over 25,000 square feet, it houses more than 100 machines and hundreds of hand tools, offering extensive resources for a wide range of projects. The Makerspace provides services such as project submission and production, with detailed guidelines for submitting CAD models and drawings. Located at 728 W Roosevelt Rd, Chicago, IL 60607, the facility operates with specific hours for areas like the Fab Lab and Machine Shop.
